My first proper attempt at a review

I am inspired by the reviews from ‘Without giving the movie away’ (WOGMA.COM) . Reviews are a testimonial a viewer writes for a movie . It’s not meant to tell you what actually happens in the movie scene-to-scene .

I had everest-like expectations from the movie because Ranbir Kapoor has had an enviable history of impressing wholly with each movie he does  be it Wake up Sid , Rajneeti or Rocket Singh . The man is an acting sensation with a spark that is beyond expressing . The best thing about him is that he knows his strong points and will never let what’s going around him jitter his belief in the work he does.

Let me warn you that his review is biased. That is because when I love a movie, I love everything about it. It’s similar to how when you love a person you tend to ignore glitches in them which the world can see but you can’t because you are so unconditionally in love!

ROCKSTAR is the tale of Janardhan a.k.a JJ a.k.a Jordan. This one line is actually the story . How he transforms from your average pampered shy teenager to a crowd-pulling sensation and that the universal law that there is no gain without pain applies in every single situation in life.

Reasons to recommend ROCKSTAR :

1. The pace of the narrative ; slick , smart , engrossing .
2. The cinematography; Jaw-dropping .
3. The overpowering melodies by the lord of music and the hair raising Sadda Haq
4. The honesty and simplicity in the dialogue
5. The simple yet hilarious comedy parts
6. The one-of-a-kind work by Imtiaz Ali. Kudos ! 
7. The scorching chemistry between the lead pair
8. The scintilatingly shot concerts ; make the ones in any other hindi movie look tame
9. The powerful cameo by Shammi Kapoor
10. The fact that you stop expecting stuff because everything seems possible

Now this section is dedicated purely to Ranbir 

11. The introduction scene . Mind-blowing , best introduction i've seen of an actor
12. The bhondu expressions and humour in the first portions
13. The ease with which he carries off the ROCKSTAR look
14. The extremes of emotions he effortlessly shows in every part of the movie whether it is happy , sad , angry! 
15. The way he asks Nargis to do as he likes
16. The way he performs on stage . Electrifying! 
17. The brisk transformations he undergoes from stupid to wayward to wild !
18. The stud-like arrogance he so subtly shows off
19. The impeccable portrayal he does of a popular but lonely star
20. His raw charm all through the duration of the movie

Rockstar never tries to please everyone . It oozes extremes . So you’ll either love it or hate it .

Watch it without mum and dad to wholly enjoy it  ;)
